Joe Rogan, Russell Brand Slam Critics Who’ve Labeled Them And Others ‘Right-Wing’ For Being Against ‘Censorship’

Joe Rogan and Russell Brand slammed critics who’ve labeled them and others “right-wing” for being against censorship on platforms like YouTube.

During Spotify’s “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on Thursday, the host spoke with Brand about YouTube’s demonetization and censorship rules and why Brand ultimately decided to leave the platform for what critics have called the “super far-right” platform Rumble.

In September, Brand announced he was leaving the video platform after an episode discussing COVID-19 and Ivermectin was censored.

“They do things to get people to self-censor and Rumble doesn’t do that,” Rogan shared.

“They’re running a business. I understand it from their perspective,” he added. “They’re running a business, they have advertisers. I understand it from their perspective. But from a content creation perspective, you just couldn’t trust them.”

“This is what Rumble fundamentally offered,” Brand replied. “They gave me a good deal and the assurance that we’re not going to censor you.”

“Now obviously coming from where I come from politically and in terms of my background even as a person that’s been in the public for a while, I know how Rumble is being portrayed,” he added. “It’s being portrayed as a right-wing, far-right place [for] conspiracy theorists —”

The host joked, “yeah, you and Glenn Greenwald, super far-right.”

“Right, married, gay,” Brand laughed.

“Tulsi Gabbard, super right-wing,” Rogan added. “It’s nuts. Anything alternative to the censorship model they’ll talk of as right-wing.”

Earlier in the show, both Brand and the host talked about being labeled “right-wing” because they’ve presented counter narratives from everything regarding the COVID-19 pandemic to the war in Ukraine.

Brand said people have said to him, “‘oh, you’re right wing conspiracy theorist. You’ve joined the alt-right.'”

Rogan said he’s been described as”far-right” as he recalled how he was treated by corporate media when he was attacked by CNN for taking “horse dewormer” after he tested positive for the coronavirus in 2021.
