'Where's Joe?': Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany lays into Biden for not giving pressers and says she was given a MUCH harder time by reporters than her successor Jen Psaki

Kayleigh McEnany has complained that she received an 'entirely different treatment by the press' than her successor as White House press secretary, insisting that Democrat administrations rarely face the same level of scrutiny as Republican ones.

The 32-year-old, who served as Donald Trump's press secretary from April 2020 until the end of his term, spoke to Sean Hannity on the day it was confirmed she was becoming a Fox News analyst.

She follows her predecessor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Trump's economic adviser Larry Kudlow to the network.

McEnany wasted no time in attacking Joe Biden, accusing the president of being absent and of failing in his promise to be transparent, and urging him to hold more press conferences.

'My question is: where's Joe?' she asked.

'It's been 41 days - at this point, President Trump had multiple press appearances, press conferences - President Barack Obama had as well.

'Joe Biden needs to step up. We need to hear from him. He needs to engage in the transparency that he promised us: he has not thus far.'

McEnany also attacked the media for giving her successor, Jen Psaki, easier treatment than had been meted out to her.

'I think it's obvious to anyone who has watched the press briefings that it was an entirely different treatment by the press,' she said.

'For one, she was asked what Joe Biden's thought about the Antifa riots, and her answer was that she hadn't spoken to him.

'If I would had given an answer like that, it would have been unacceptable. The headlines would have been egregious and appalling afterward.'

McEnany frequently responded, during her briefings, that she had not spoken to Trump about a particular issue: the answer is seen as routine.

She insisted the media were being more lenient to the Biden administration.

'Why is it that under President Donald Trump they talk about cages, that were falsely attributed to him, in the immigration context. They were in fact put in place under President Barack Obama,' she pointed out.

'Now we know that these immigration facilities have opened, but there is no criticism there.'

Hannity asked whether McEnany felt that questions should be asked about women who have accused Biden of inappropriate behavior, such as Tara Reid.

McEnany replied: 'If you think of the questions I was asked at the podium, I was asked about allegations of that nature, which were false allegations against the president.

'You just don't get the degree of scrutiny in a Democrat administration as you would in a Donald Trump administration.'

The Florida-born Harvard Law graduate praised Psaki, however, for her willingness to appear on Fox, which she did at the weekend.

Psaki on Tuesday wished McEnany well in her new gig and said she'd be willing to on the network with her predecessor.

'I've done Fox News Sunday twice now I'm happy to go on a range of shows,' Psaki said.

She noted she and McEnany had spoken a few times in green rooms at CNN when they waited to go air, when McEnany was a CNN contributor and before she became Trump's chief spokesperson.

'Like many Americans, we disagree on political issues but we talked about our families, our spouses, sports all sorts of things in the green room,' said Psaki.

'And I certainly wish her the best in her future endeavors.'

'I respect her for saying that she would willing to go on Fox - she has been on Fox and networks that would challenge her, as they should,' McEnany said.
