Outrage after Florida cop attacked student: ‘Keep coming for our babies — we’ll keep coming for your badges’

The Broward Sheriff’s Office was slammed by parents after shocking video showed a deputy tackling a student at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, NBC Miami reported Monday.
A 17-year-old student, Jordan Bennett, received a permanent scar on his forehead after being taken to a hospital to receive stitches for the head injury he received in the incident.

NBC Miami reported the deputy “tackled Bennett and slammed his head to the cafeteria floor.”
Jasmine Rand, an attorney for the student’s parents, slammed the department.
“Don’t tell me that you could not take my client who engaged in a verbal altercation with another student without leaving a permanent scar on his forehead. I don’t buy it, the people of Broward County don’t buy it, and enough is enough,” Rand said.

She also issued a warning to the department.
“If you keep coming for our babies, we’re going to keep coming for your badges, period,” she said.
Lucca Rolle was the victim of a similar incident.
“What happened to Lucca and Jordan are not isolated incidents, but part of a pattern and practice of the systemic abuse of our children at the hands of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office,” Rand said.
The victim’s mother issued a statement on the incident.
“I have been watching what happened to Lucca Rolle on television and I wanted people to know that it was not just an isolated incident. What happened to Lucca happened to my son Jordan,” Debbie Bennett said.
