Ocasio-Cortez spokesman tweets expletive at potential Republican challenger, and then deletes it

The spokesman for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) tweeted an expletive at a Republican who plans to challenge her for her congressional seat, but deleted the missive later after public outcry.
Talk radio producer Rich Valdes said he tried to challenge Ocasio-Cortez and her socialist vision but she ran away from the confrontation during the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in Manhattan on Sunday.
When he made headlines for the interaction, Ocasio-Cortez' spokesperson Corbin Trent responded with a profanity.
"Yo @RichValdes what in the actual f**k makes you think you're entitled to a debate with AOC," Trent said in the tweet.
"Pro tip: stalking her at a parade ain't gonna make it any more likely to happen," he added.
However, this attempt to belittle Valdes is in stark contrast to his firstresponse, which was to challenge him to a debate.
"She kept walking! The parade moved! It's a procession! Give me a break," Trent told the New York Post. "Tell him to run for office and she'll debate him."
He deleted the tweet a day later and admitted that it had been a bad idea.
"I did indeed send that," he said to The Post. "I did indeed delete it. It didn't seem that helpful."
He went on to say he didn't deny the tweet, and instead used the question to undermine the challenge from Valdes.
"I regret that so many people right from presidential candidates to right-wing commentators to random people that start organizations think that they're entitled to people's time," he added. "I think she's spending a ton of time in the district talking about what she's doing, talking about why she's doing it and making a case for her policies."
Valdes criticized the congresswoman for condoning the uncivil tweet.
"If Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez condones her spokesperson's belligerent behavior and language, that's on her," he said in a statement. "It speaks volumes to how much she respects civility and respectful civil discourse. Something we desperately need today."
