‘We Know You’ve Lied’: Wyoming GOP Rep Blisters DHS Sec Mayorkas On Immigration

Wyoming’s GOP congresswoman absolutely blistered Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, slamming him for allegedly lying to the American people.

Rep. Harriet Hageman, who replaced GOP Rep. Liz Cheney in Congress, minced no words, calling Mayorkas the kind of tyrant that the American Founding Founders warned about.

“Mr. Mayorkas, I actually really want to thank you, as well, for coming here today for your performance. I have watched with absolute fascination as you have danced and dodged and lied, yes, lied,” she began.

“We know you’ve lied,” she declared. “You know you’ve lied. But more importantly the American public knows you lied throughout your testimony today.  And yet you believe that you and your fellow architects of the censorship industrial complex think that you should be able to determine what is and isn’t true, and what is and isn’t untrue.”

“You are the walking, talking, epitome of the very tyrant that our forefathers recognized would gravitate towards government service,” she declaimed. “And it’s because of people like you that they drafted the First Amendment.”

“I thank them for their foresight; I thank them for recognizing that you and people like you would do everything in your power to control speech, to control freedom, to take away our rights,” she said. “And they’ve written a document that isn’t going to allow you to do that. Fortunately we still have courts and judges who recognize that you don’t have the power that you are attempting to take; that you do not have the right to limit our freedom of speech, our freedom of association, our right to communicate.”

“Thank God we have the First Amendment so we can stop you from doing what you’ve been doing,” she concluded.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) blasted Mayorkas for claiming that the U.S. had operational control of the border, saying that Mayorkas had made the dubious border claims as part of “a perpetual pattern, and the fact is, there are real people that are impacted by that.”

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), who lacerated Mayorkas for his agency deciding what is true and false, pointed out that a court had found that DHS made no distinction between domestic speech and foreign speech when attempting to quash discourse.

Johnson later fired, “I’ve only got 25 seconds. I don’t have time for a question because you’ll be elusive but since we’re stating things for the record, I’ve been in Congress for seven years. I think you are the most dishonest witness that has ever appeared before the Judiciary Committee.”

Johnson was not alone; Arizona Republican Rep. Andy Biggs had a few words to say about Mayorkas:
