Two masked suspects armed with rifles just pulled off a massive $1.8 million heist on a Brinks armored truck on Tuesday morning and walked away scot-free.
According to 6abc, the robbery unfolded around 9:45 a.m. in the Tacony section of the city, where two masked men armed with rifles ambushed the armored truck as it was servicing a financial business along Torresdale Avenue.
The suspects reportedly jumped out of a vehicle, executed the heist within moments, and fled the scene with an estimated $1.8 million in cash.
No shots were fired and, incredibly, no one was injured, but the criminals escaped clean.
Witnesses described chaos as the suspects sped away, with one observer noting the getaway vehicle “took off on the sidewalk” immediately after the robbery.
Authorities later located what they believe to be the getaway vehicle, a blue Acura SUV, abandoned miles away. But as of now, no suspects are in custody.
WATCH:
We’ve repeatedly exposed how Soros-backed District Attorney Larry Krasner has turned the city into a revolving-door justice system where violent thugs are coddled, repeat offenders are released without bail, and police are hamstrung by defund-the-police nonsense and anti-cop rhetoric from the radical left.
From brazen juvenile flash mob robberies to cold-blooded executions in broad daylight, Philly under Krasner has become a national embarrassment.
Remember our reporting on the thugs who executed a defenseless man in a Philly suburb? Or the endless string of smash-and-grab thefts and armed robberies that go unpunished? Krasner’s office has spent more time threatening ICE agents and harassing law enforcement than locking up actual criminals.
