First, the Japanese team gave the English squad a playing lesson, then the fans went viral for their elevated behavior.
Soccer is the most popular sport on Earth, but when it comes to the fans, many times they broadcast a terrible image of violence and chaos to international viewers.
But that’s not the case with the highly civilized Japanese fans.
After a stadium game ends, the stands are usually littered with plastic cups, fast-food wrappers and the like.
But what transpired after Japan’s landmark win against England in Wembley was very different.

The Telegraph reported:
“Supporters of the Blue Samurai stayed behind for 30 minutes to celebrate their first victory against England. They then collected litter and left the away section as tidy as they found it.
Footage of the Japan fans collecting rubbish into blue plastic bags, when most other supporters would be returning home down Wembley Way, has gone viral. Officials from Wembley thanked the away fans for their clean-up operation, which has become a tradition for their supporters.”

“They also cleaned the stands at the last World Cup in Qatar after beating Germany at the Khalifa International Stadium. Experts say cleanliness is part of Japanese culture and has become part of the football-watching experience.
After their defeat to Belgium knocked them out of the 2018 World Cup, the Japanese team left their dressing room spotless in Rostov-on-Don, with a note reading ‘Спасибо’, thank you in Russian.”
Amazing from Japan.
This is how they left the changing room after losing v Belgium: cleaned it all.
And in the middle, have left a message to Russia: “Spasibo” (Thank you) pic.twitter.com/lrwoIZt2pR— Tancredi Palmeri (@tancredipalmeri) July 3, 2018
While the rapidly evolving Japanese soccer team may still have a lot to learn, the fans are some of the most fantastic in the world, ready to bring their clean game to the US for the World Cup.
